Baseball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline dropped down to 5-5 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Eastlake Wolves, falling 13-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Jackson Spencer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

On Eastlake's side, Ben Byeman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Levine, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Skyline had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
