Baseball Recap: Moorefield Comes Up Short

Moorefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Pendleton County Wildcat. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Moorefield's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Pendleton County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Coming up, Moorefield will host South Harrison at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pendleton County, they will head out on the road to challenge Notre Dame at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Wildcat's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Irish have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
