Baseball Recap: Village Christian Takes a Loss

Brentwood School hit Village Christian with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Dallas Young was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Village Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only four runs. As for Brentwood School, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Village Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against La Canada on the 2nd. As for Brentwood School, they will challenge Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
