Flag Football Recap: Palos Verdes Takes a Loss + How To Watch

There was early excitement for Palos Verdes after they claimed the first score on Thursday, but it was Mira Costa who ended up claiming the real prize. The Sea Kings and the Mustangs were almost perfectly matched up, but the Sea Kings suffered a 13-12 loss. The Sea Kings have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Although Palos Verdes took the loss, they still got scores from Sophia Albano and Emmerson Radcliffe.

Even if they lost, Palos Verdes' defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Ava McGovern was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself. Another thorn in Mira Costa's side was April Sanchez, who made nine total tackles and defended five passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Palos Verdes' loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Mira Costa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Palos Verdes is set to challenge their familiar foe Peninsula at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mira Costa will square off against rival Redondo Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 13.1, the Sea Hawks 8.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
