Football Recap: Chamblee Bulldogs vs. Roswell Hornets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chamblee can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 51-6 loss at the hands of the Roswell Hornets. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.
Chamblee lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brayden Doss, who threw for 191 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 31 yards.
It was another big night for Trey Smith, who threw for 340 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 17.0 yards per attempt for Roswell. Those 340 passing yards gave Smith a new career-high. Roswell also got help from Wills Campbell, who showed off his sure hands for 104 receiving yards.
Chamblee's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Roswell, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Chamblee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roswell, they will square off against Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Gladiators have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
