Volleyball Recap: Fresno Christian's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fresno Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Kingsburg Vikings by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22.

Fresno Christian had a senior duo take command as Petraeus Draper had 35 digs and two aces and Jordyn Degroot had 17 kills, nine digs, and two blocks. Those 17 kills set a new season-high mark for Degroot. The team also got some help courtesy of Aryannah Frabotta, who had 12 assists and seven digs.

Loss or not, Kingsburg got some senior leadership from Parker Woods and Emily Beer. Woods had 22 digs and one assist, while Beer had eight digs. Makaylah Villanueva also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Fresno Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Kingsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Fresno Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against San Joaquin Memorial on the 4th. As for Kingsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Redwood on the 2nd.
