Basketball Recap: Juab Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Juab can now relate to. They fell 47-40 to the Canyon View Falcons on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Canyon View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maya Nichols led the charge by shooting 73% from the field to rack up 21 points. Those 21 points gave Nichols a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maylee Spencer, who posted nine points and five steals.

Juab has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. Canyon View's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5.

Juab has already played their next game, a 56-47 victory against Richfield on the 25th. As for Canyon View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-37 win against South Summit on the 25th.
