Volleyball Recap: Savannah Arts Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Jenkins

Savannah Arts Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Jenkins Warriors. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Savannah Arts Academy easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11.

Savannah Arts Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Lehto out in front who had 13 assists and three digs. Those 13 assists gave Lehto a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Savannah Arts Academy and Jenkins will both be playing Savannah Country Day the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
