Basketball Recap: Rock Academy Comes Up Short

Rock Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Rock Academy lost, don't look at James Whitley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Whitley a new career-high. Zayden Campbell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Silberstein, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Adam Tal was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Rock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-11.

Rock Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-43 defeat against Calvin Christian on the 24th. San Diego Jewish Academy has also already played their next game, a 62-58 loss against Foothills Christian on the 23rd.
