Basketball Recap: Shelbyville Has No Trouble Against New Berlin

Shelbyville was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against New Berlin on Tuesday. The Shelbyville Rams put the hurt on the New Berlin Pretzels with a sharp 60-40 win. The contest marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelbyville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Jokisch, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. The game was Jokisch's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Myles Hammond, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Shelbyville was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Shelbyville's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for New Berlin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will welcome Sullivan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for New Berlin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Nokomis at 7:30 p.m.
