Softball Game Preview: Greer Yellow Jackets vs. Seneca Bobcats

Greer is 0-3 against Seneca since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. Greer is taking a road trip to take on Seneca at 5:30 p.m.

Greer is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Blue Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Yellow Jackets have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Adison Howard was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Seneca had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Greer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Seneca, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Greer might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Seneca in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can Greer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
