Game recap: Upland High School Football Team wins against Etiwanda

ETIWANDA, Calif. - Upland (Calif.) saw its 10-point lead dwindle to seven, but still managed to hang on and defeat Etiwanda (Calif.) 26-19 on Saturday.

After trailing 9-6 at the half, the Eagles went ahead on a touchdown with 8:00 remaining in the third. Upland finally took the lead for good when they scored a touchdown with 6:00 to go in the third quarter.

UHS grew its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. The Highlanders/Scots scored three times in the third, including once on a Tyler Hilinski touchdown pass to Devan Clark.

A 57-39 Upland victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.



The loss comes after Etiwanda defeated Glendora 35-28 last week. The win brought Upland's winning streak to three games. The loss snapped Etiwanda's two-game winning streak.

In a Baseline game next week Etiwanda (5-4) takes on Los Osos, and Upland (6-3) will go up against Rancho Cucamonga also in a Baseline game.
