Football Recap: O'Connor Takes a Loss

O'Connor and Johnson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but O'Connor had to settle for second. They were dealt a 59-21 loss at the hands of the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 671st, while the Jaguars are ranked 59th).

Despite the loss, O'Connor still got an impressive performance from Riley Eason, who rushed for 65 yards and two scores on only five carries.

Elvis Estrada continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Johnson, throwing for 196 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes. Estrada has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Noah Cartwright handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for O'Connor and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Johnson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

As of now, neither O'Connor nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
