Volleyball Game Preview: Saint Mary's Panthers vs. Pinole Valley Spartans + How To Watch

Saint Mary is a perfect 9-0 against Pinole Valley since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m.

Saint Mary's is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Salesian College Preparatory just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Pride, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Pride since October 16, 2018.

While Saint Mary's ultimately came up short, they really made Salesian College Preparatory work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pinole Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Hercules on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Pinole Valley was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21.

Pinole Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 10-9. As for Saint Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
