Soccer Game Preview: Syracuse vs. Layton

The Syracuse Titans will square off against the Layton Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Syracuse will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Syracuse's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Skyline 3-0. Considering Syracuse have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Skyline with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Talia Thompson, Jocee Eddy, and Sophie Martin.

Meanwhile, Layton faced Davis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Darts who were credited with the win. Davis got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Layton's one. Layton have struggled against Davis recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Layton's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Syracuse, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Syracuse skirted past Layton 3-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
