Volleyball Recap: Schalmont Takes a Loss

Schalmont was the 3-0 winner over Troy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sabres lost 3-0 to the Flying Horses on Tuesday. The Sabres have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Schalmont ultimately came up short, they really made Troy work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-17, 25-19.

Nadia Sawyer paced Schalmont's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sawyer got some help from Olivia Dagostino and her 16 assists. Finally, Sawyer was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Schalmont now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Troy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schalmont will head out to take on Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Troy, they will square off against Tamarac at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
