Volleyball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-17 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Desert Pines Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Pirate: when they faced off against the Jaguars back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

As for Desert Pines, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 26th.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cesar Velasco, who had eight digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Aukusitino Afoa, who had 13 digs.

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Desert Pines, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Boulder City on the 28th.
