Basketball Recap: King Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Warren over La Serna

Warren easily dispatched Kennedy on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bears fell just short of the La Serna Lancers by a score of 64-62 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered since January 3rd.

Warren lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was King Johnson, who went 9-for-17 to rack up 21 points and six rebounds. Kenneth Martinez was another key player, shooting 70% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Warren's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for La Serna, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Warren will face off against Loara at 3:30 p.m. on December 1. As for La Serna, they will take on Cathedral in a tournament on Tuesday.
