Basketball Recap: Omaha Lightning Takes a Loss

Omaha Lightning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K Knights.

St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Reed led the charge by going 7 for 16 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and five boards. The matchup was Reed's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JohnPaul Gunn, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Omaha Lightning's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Omaha Lightning and St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. Omaha Lightning (ranked 183rd) will meet Life Prep (ranked 40th) on February 8th. Meanwhile, St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K will face off against Sikeston at 5:30 p.m. on Monday down 306 places (318 vs. 12).
