Soccer Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep vs. The Villages Charter

The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will face off against The Villages Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lake Highland Prep heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup last Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Montverde Academy who was credited with the win. Montverde Academy got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Lake Highland Prep's zero. The Highlanders haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last nine times they've met.

Friday just wasn't the day for The Villages Charter's offense. They came up short against Lake Highland Prep two weeks ago, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 26th).

The Villages Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3-2. As for Lake Highland Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2-1.

Everything went Lake Highland Prep's way against The Villages Charter in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Lake Highland Prep made off with a 6-0 victory.
