Football Recap: Monmouth-Roseville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Monmouth-Roseville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 31-6 to the Richmond-Burton Rockets on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Rockets are ranked 30th).

Clay Casteel threw for 45 yards on five of nine attempts. On the ground, Nick Huston rushed for 147 yards and one score.

Monmouth-Roseville moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Richmond-Burton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
