Volleyball Recap: Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish vs. Manteno Panthers
Bishop McNamara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Manteno Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Fightin' Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bishop McNamara sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-27, 25-22.
Bishop McNamara's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Manteno, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-11.
Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bishop McNamara is on the road again on Tuesday to play Manteno at 7:00 p.m. As for Manteno, they will host Coal City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
