Softball Recap: Brentwood Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Brentwood hadn't done well against Nolensville recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bruins never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Give the Bruins' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Marina Mason, who gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Nolensville off the board. Mason has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brentwood's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bella Black, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Brentwood has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nolensville, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 23-11.

Brentwood has already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Christ Presbyterian Academy on the 30th. Nolensville has also already played their next contest (against Lawson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
