Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Brillion's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Brillion walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Southern Door Eagles on Thursday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Grace Krueger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amaya Brooks was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jana O'Connell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Brillion is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Door, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

As of now, neither Brillion nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
