Basketball Recap: Jefferson County's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Jefferson County had lost three straight headed into Saturday's contest, but Xavier Miller didn't let it get to four. The Jefferson County Tigers were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over the St. John Lutheran Saints on Saturday thanks in part to Miller, who posted 30 points and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

Jefferson County's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for St. John Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Jefferson County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on FAMU DRS at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. St. John Lutheran and Aucilla Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
