Basketball Recap: Cicero Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Cicero Prep Academy lost against Valley Lutheran back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions lost 59-39 to the Valley Lutheran Flames. The Centurions were down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

It was another big night for Caynan Chapman, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals for Valley Lutheran. Chapman's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of John McLaughlin, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Cicero Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Valley Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Cicero Prep Academy nor Valley Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
