Softball Recap: Mckinley Drops Season-High Score on Springfield

McKinley had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it six. They fell 12-8 to the Springfield Tigers. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Trojans' highest-scoring match to date.

Davianna Bowyer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Keira Kemmery was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Springfield, they now have a winning record of 8-7. They haven't had any issues with McKinley recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

On Springfield's side, Gracie Maldonado and Gina Romeo did most of the damage at the plate: Maldonado went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Romeo went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Maldonado has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hannah Stouffer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
