Baseball Recap: Badin Comes Up Short

Badin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lakota West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 8-7. It was the first time this season that the Rams let down their fans at home.

Badin got a massive performance out of Cooper Ollis, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Chase Luebbe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Badin's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Lakota West, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Badin and Lakota West should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Rams (ranked sixth) will meet Hamilton (ranked 249th) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lakota West will challenge Talawanda at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (58 vs. 409). The timing is sure in the Firebirds' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Brave have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.
