Basketball Recap: Waconia Comes Up Short

Waconia came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Chaska Hawks by a score of 62-59 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Hawks are ranked 38th).

Waconia has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Chaska, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Waconia has already played their next contest (against New Prague), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chaska will take on Chanhassen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaska knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Chanhassen likes a good challenge.
