Miyamura and Aztec are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Patriots will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Miyamura played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They never let Kirtland Central get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brady Antonio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Miyamura let Marshall Livingston and Shane Escajeda run wild. Livingston scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Escajeda went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three runs gave Livingston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Ashley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Aztec waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Chieftains. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8th.
Kaleb Hales and Hunter Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Hales scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Clark scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Brooks, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Aztec was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Aztec's record is now 7-11. As for Miyamura, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.
Miyamura couldn't quite finish off Aztec in their previous matchup on Thursday and fell 5-3. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
