Softball Recap: West Orange Wins Going Away Against Lake Buena Vista

West Orange's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now won three in a row.

Cynthia Cummings was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cali Flowers was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ilaria Forte was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Lake Buena Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Coming up, West Orange will venture away from home to square off against Foundation Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will host Wildwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vipers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
