Softball Game Preview: Justin Garza Guardians vs. Bullard Knights

Justin Garza hasn't had much luck against Bullard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Guardians will host the Knights at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Justin Garza 3.7, Bullard 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Justin Garza is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Rio Linda on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Knights.

Harmony Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Bullard had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bullpups as they made off with a 13-1 win.

Justin Garza's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Bullard, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Justin Garza suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Bullard in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Guardians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
