After a string of seven wins, Monterey's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 62-54 to the Carmel Padres. The Dores were not able to make up for their loss to the Padres from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Carmel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Ashe out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Ashe has become a key player for Carmel: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Brown, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 14 points.

Monterey's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Carmel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Monterey has already played their next match, a 73-32 victory against Everett Alvarez on the 17th. As for Carmel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-52 win against Alisal on the 17th.
