Baseball Recap: Avery Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Avery's offense. They came up short against the Bland Tigers on Friday, falling 13-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 18-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

This is the second loss in a row for Avery and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1. As for Bland, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Avery has already played their next match, a 10-1 loss against Neches on the 7th. As for Bland, they will venture away from home to challenge Cooper at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Bland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
