Basketball Recap: New York Mills Extends Winning Streak to 12

New York Mills had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-53 W against the Park Christian Falcons. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 59-49 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Libby Suckert, who posted 15 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. Those eight steals gave Suckert a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Forde, who went 7-for-16 en route to 20 points.

New York Mills pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Park Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

New York Mills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-42 win against Bertha-Hewitt on the 14th. As for Park Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 53-30 victory against Fosston on the 15th.
