Basketball Recap: Shonto Prep Comes Up Short

Shonto Prep extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were beaten by the St. Michael Cardinals 100-18. The Grizzlies lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in January of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 70-45 score last time.

As for St. Michael, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10. That looming 100-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Ryan Legah had another great game (as he tends to do), going 13-for-22 to rack up 30 points and three steals. The contest was his 11th in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Logan Terry, who shot 55% from the field en route to 13 points and six steals.

Shonto Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-44 loss against BASIS Flagstaff on the 20th. As for St. Michael, they have also already played their next game, a 58-52 defeat against Rock Point on the 20th.
