The Inderkum Tigers will challenge the Ponderosa Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Inderkum was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rio Americano on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 14-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the game before.
Natalie Aboosh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Aboosh was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Inderkum let Ambrosia Estacio and Alexandra Jacques run wild. Estacio went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Jacques went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Estacio has posted over her last 11 contests. Helaina Bautista was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Inderkum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Ponderosa won against Christian Brothers on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Bruins were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Vista del Lago. The win was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on five straight.
Haley Warney spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
On the hitting side, Ponderosa got a big performance out of Brooklynn Nordquist, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Ellie Escobar, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Ponderosa pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Inderkum, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12-1.
