Baseball Game Preview: West Covina Bulldogs vs. Covina Colts

For the second straight game, West Covina will face off against Covina. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Colts at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

West Covina is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Covina just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Colts.

For Covina's part, Cesar Guzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Covina got a big performance out of Lucas Thorpe, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Thorpe has posted over his last ten matches. Another player making a difference was Donavan Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Covina's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for West Covina, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
