Weaver can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They took a blow against Desert Chapel, falling 78-3. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-1.
Meanwhile, Palm Valley took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They breezed by West Shores to the tune of 66-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deshawn Tunmore, who went 9 for 22 en route to 23 points plus seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ratner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Palm Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.
