Softball Recap: Patterson Gets the Win

Patterson proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Terrebonne Tigers 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lumberjacks have posted since March 10th.

Not much got past Mia Knight, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Terrebonne off the board. Knight has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabby Grogan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two stolen bases. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

Patterson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Terrebonne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patterson will welcome Catholic - N.I. at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Terrebonne, they will host Covenant Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
