After a string of seven wins, Argonaut's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Liberty Ranch Hawks by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Hailey Dewald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, AJ Schultz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.

Argonaut's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Liberty Ranch, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Coming up, Argonaut will take on Cosumnes Oaks in a tournament on Friday. As for Liberty Ranch, they will face off against Rosemont at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
