Baseball Recap: Powhatan Takes a Loss

Powhatan came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-1 to the James River Midlothian Rapids. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 24th.

Powhatan's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-1. As for James River Midlothian, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Powhatan is set to take on their familiar foe Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.4, the Lancers 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, James River Midlothian will challenge rival Monacan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
