Coffee County Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Columbia Central proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Red Raiders 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 25th.

Gavin Beddingfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Columbia Central's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in March.

The win made it two in a row for Columbia Central and bumps their season record up to 14-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Coffee County Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Central will venture away from home to square off against Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coffee County Central, they will head out to take on Bradley Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
