While Wildcats fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They strolled past Overfelt with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 34-16. The Wildcats pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Royals cut but never quite recovered from.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Woodside's defense and their five sacks. Overfelt's QB won't forget Carlos Latu anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Latu's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up three sacks, forcing a fumble, and making four total tackles.
Meanwhile, Sequoia couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 27-3 to Capuchino on Friday.
Woodside skirted past Sequoia 17-14 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodside since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
