Peotone is 9-1 against Lisle since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Peotone will be strutting in after a victory while Lisle will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Peotone turned things around against St. Anne on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals an 8-0 shutout.

Sophie Klawitter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Meghan O'Connor was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Maddie Scheffers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Peotone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Anne only posted a batting average of .136.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Lisle's offense. They fell just short of St. Edward by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Megan Bradley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Lisle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Riley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Riley's first of the season.

Lisle's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Peotone, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. However, it's not like Lisle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
