Basketball Recap: King Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

King lost to Englewood Stem back in January of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 58-38 margin over the Panthers. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Panthers are ranked 363rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

King can attribute much of their success to Terrel Keys, who posted 12 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cornelius Moore, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

The victory (which was King's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. As for Englewood Stem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

King didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-59 win against Carbondale on the 13th. As for Englewood Stem, they will be home for the holidays to greet Solorio at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
