Softball Game Preview: Flour Bluff Hornets vs. Palmview Lobos

For the second straight game, Flour Bluff will face off against Palmview. The Hornets will challenge the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Flour Bluff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Palmview, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since March 13th.

Kenzie O'Brien made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. O'Brien was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Sarah Morris was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Sidney Gerlach was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Flour Bluff's win bumped their record up to 24-9-1. As for Palmview, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-4-1.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Flour Bluff hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378.
