Baseball Game Preview: Key West Conchs vs. American Heritage Patriots

For the second straight game, Key West will face off against American Heritage. The Conchs will square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Key West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Key West heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Heritage.

Key West got a good showing from Cruz Holmes, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Holmes has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Key West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Auggy Davila, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The win was the ninth in a row for American Heritage, bringing their record up to 24-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Key West, they dropped their record down to 20-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Key West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like American Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 strikeouts.
