Baseball Recap: Westview Wildcats vs. South Salem Saxons

Westview had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 7-8 to make it four. They fell 6-1 to the South Salem Saxons. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Saxons when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Caleb Bailie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for South Salem, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On South Salem's side, Teagan Scott was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Scott has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Scott, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Coming up, Westview will face off against Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Salem, they will square off against Glencoe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last eight games the Tide have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
