Wilder never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Horseshoe Bend on Friday. They blew past the Mustangs 11-4. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
N. Escutia made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Escutia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, M. Lopez was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. A. Fogg also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Wilder's record now sits at 8-11. As for Horseshoe Bend, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Wilder wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-17 loss against Idaho City on the 9th. Horseshoe Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
